Something fishy

Headstrong arms lift him

amidst the sea foam, I see

a hunk of a man for me

alas, i don't want him to smell something fishy

hiding intentions beneath silky mermaid tresses,

i plead with greedy witch

to gift me with two long gorgeous tentacles

humans call them legs, I believe

in exchange for my dulcet voice

i agreed

does it really  make a difference ?

after all, swaying hips

will persuade

better than words.

i will let my legs do all the

smooth talking for me.

My sea nymph sisters were right:

to bait your man,

shut up,

and use a good pair of

fishnet stockings

  14. Idioms work very well crafted into this seductive fairy tale. Great fun to read.

  15. A nice play on mermaid myths combined with a clever play of words. But wouldn't you use the fish nets to *catch* your man?

  16. How excellently you reworked this fishtale! I loved the subtle plays on words. I hope this story ended happily, for the little mermaid at least.

  21. Touche"...

some men and their inability to stay out of "legs-way"

    great use of the idiom..

  22. hahaha nice one. And it's true about the stockings, my boyfriend loves them. A friend of mine once said it was about the plump of the thigh above the stocking that does it.

  23. way to weave this one around the idiom... really clever.

  26. Heaven,
Very nice to meet you as well, and I do believe your voice is gutsier. Shall we argue and find out? Just teasing. I've enjoyed visiting and reading at your blog. I love reading anything like your fishnet mermaid tale. Fits right in with my bitter, anti-romance moods lately. Visit and share whenever you like. I look forward to it.

  29. Ha Ha...good twist...the sis's were right.
The men are 'caught' almost every time.

I like the flow and word choices in this poem:

i don't want him to smell something fishy
    two long gorgeous tentacles
hiding intentions beneath silky mermaid tresses

    Nice work here 'Heaven'

  30. Women were surely born of the sea (not a ridiculous rib, as some would say) and carry the tides within.
