Stormy nights

missed turn

third chances

unexpected rain

spilled milk

burnt toast

rejection letter

unanswered prayer

miscalculated step

unpared dream

rough edges

turbulent waves

stormy nights

unfinished us

i am thankful too

November days

the 11th hour is near
silver cloudy sky, bare forlorn trees
fallen topaz leaves on auburn ground

she lingers
haunted by memories draping her white wrap
unaccepting of winter's breath on horizon

she listens
music strains of spring's dances
violin strings plucking her autumn's soul

still, she hopes
clutching painting of chrysanthemums,
basket of wine and bread, eternal love, he said

the whistling train is calling
almost the end of long journey, near the last pages
riveted to pulsing words, capturing imagination

he pauses.... beguiled by her serene smile,
an unturned page, November days framed,

forget her, he could not

Posted for The Gooseberry Garden:   Poetry Picnic - November, change, winter, hope.
For this prompt, I have used symbols and meaning for the month of November.
Though cooler now, we are experiencing a relatively "warm" November.   No sign of snow yet.

Muse

growing
itch in my hand
tingling spark
                   along
                          spine

ignoring
unbearable clicking,
slowly
          strangling
                        throat

until i feel like
hollowed well,
dirt on
          spitted
                     ground

one cold night,
i run until
forest trees
                strip
                       bearings

sharp tongues of crows
bite pale lips

pointed claws of tiger
scrape smooth skin

bare and free,
fire in my belly,
spilling
          guts
                 blank page

Posted for D'verse Poets Pub - Wild hosted by Mark Kerstetter.  I enjoy writing under "another face", and letting my muse have a "run".  Writing balances my life as my job is analytical and very technical.  If I don't write, I think I will go crazy like the animals in the zoo.

Thank you

no hummingbirds nor

red roses garden outside
my glass window

no blue oceans nor
colourful Christmas parade
my street

no turkey laden feast nor
polished silverware set
my table

   but my heart is full
blessings from
friends and family

days, bold & exciting
nights, young & passionate

with grateful heart

thank you for inspiring me

Mad adventure

coral-crushed grains of sand
soft as your open palms, waiting

hesitantly i dip my toes into cool water
curious, then diving in full measure

azure waves ripple, dance against
quiet afternoon legs, broken by

whispering sea shells, scuttling crabs,
lingering seaweeds, cries of seagulls

invigorated  by the sea swim,
i climb on your broad shoulders

pondering the briny depths for maps,
compass points, shallow footprints

till we see the swish tail of dolphins
racing furiously to kiss setting sun

mad adventure,  gut-spilling leaps
electrifying sprays unto our faces

waving and laughing, we hold hands
excited to begin our journey

Warm breath

sweaty palms, though autumn
as i concentrate on cues

signalling intention, i feel
your warm breath on my skin

your sun-streaked cheeks, sky blue
smile dazzles, but i was too intent

keeping my eyes fixed
on your wide open arms

missing a mid waist turn or
skipping yellow broken lines

would not do; no you want
to keep me on my toes, curled

and pining for you, beguiled
by rolling hills and unfastened bows

harder, i press to feel your
hands stroking my thighs,

your fullness and promise on my tongue
kindred soul, how can i resist you ?

tower lights by a thousands
chase you
in smoggy 10 lane freeway

but i see

your fire-lit eyes steady on me

as i drive home

Posted for D'verse Poets Pub- Changes hosted by Sheila Moore.   I have actually shared a recent big change in my life here but I thought of posting another write about driving to and from my office.   I see the sun rising on my way to work, and sun setting on my way home. I welcome change and challenges in my life  ~

Gentle night

i inhale your tender sighs
warming my soft breasts

i savor the slow beat
flickering candle lights

i listen to silky cadence
enveloped in your ardent arms

our hands grasp firmly
sea of our passion

cherishing breadth and
fullness of precious time

gentle is the night
when we celebrate us

Soaring

i pierce

an arrow

sky of red apples

i paint

shades of black

and white

along

tempest rivers,

ice- capped mountains

i admire

hands that hold quill

words more potent than

lover’s kiss

i dream

tap dancing

with lusty full moon

nights velvety smooth

delicate ivory, I soar

until breathless

I fall on

your arms

Something new about me is that I have traded my easy-near-at-home work, for a more challenging job in the heart of the city.  I am driving the freeway morning and afternoon, by myself (I used to be a weekend driver), and tackling a totally new job.   I am not young anymore (in terms of years) but the fire is still with me.   The only downside to this development is my time for writing.  I have not been able to write as much as I can, and visit your blog as often as I used to.

Thanks for your visit.  I appreciate all your comments.

What if

life is
not just
two       sides
yes            no
black     white
  but         also
maybe,
what if,
if this is,
just because,
just a little,
not quite,
not really,
almost there,
not so there,

negotiable

wiggle room

grainy ash

most
of
the
time

Author's Note:   This is my insight after undergoing almost 3 weeks of training for my new job.  Ironically I have to learn the rules, to know how to bend them, depending on circumstances.

Something fishy

Headstrong arms lift him

amidst the sea foam, I see

a hunk of a man for me

alas, i don't want him to smell something fishy

hiding intentions beneath silky mermaid tresses,

i plead with greedy witch

to gift me with two long gorgeous tentacles

humans call them legs, I believe

in exchange for my dulcet voice

i agreed

does it really  make a difference ?

after all, swaying hips

will persuade

better than words.

i will let my legs do all the

smooth talking for me.

My sea nymph sisters were right:

to bait your man,

shut up,

and use a good pair of

fishnet stockings

Her arrival

anxiously

they await
craning necks
for slightest clue
of her arrival

her icy breath
raising goose bumps

her cold stare
freezing warm intentions

feared yet admired
she is dazzling with her
fierce ardor

she would rather be
cool character than
a forgettable slip of a girl

here she comes now

ivory veil, long white gown

The ride

i wait for the lightning
to strike me as i walk
lobby for our rendezvous

but nothing; you are there
appointed time, waiting for me
my legs didn't protest too as

we ride rented convertible
dark tinted windows, smooth
sailing, no one stopping us

no questions asked, we
both know where we are
going, loot stashed in boot

as you close the door, and start
kissing me, i thought the suite will go up
in flames, like in Hell (a fable I was told)

but nothing; so we continue stroking,
grabbing as much skin, hair as we
can for now, until next three hours

skewtering sweet words until
we are riding along waves
built on a stack of playing cards

real or imagined cues, we brew
until smoke fills feathery suite, stinging
my eyes could not tell anymore

if tic on your left cheek is for real
or just a figment of my imagination.

are you giving me another ride?

More than a face

so you  think you know me well
just because you know my name
or maybe you see the color of
hair and skin, shape of my eyes

so you think you know me true
just because you know where i live,
work and eat or maybe you see my
shoes, clothes and music i listen to

but i am more than just a face,
my lips are bolder than blood red,
often times my thoughts are dark,
bluer than my violet eyes; my dreams
brighter than biggest yellow star;

for i am more than just one colour,
one label, one adjective to fit
your bag of expectations; i am
full of contradictions, i admit

woman, you say

yep, that's me

Clinging to you

kiss me anew, here
before the last maple leaf
falls, and first snowflake
wets my pale lips, stilling time
twisted in salty drenched arms

hurl me anew, here
before the last rose petal
dips, and first winter
drop caresses my bare hips
unfolding, clinging to you
