night air bristles,
the way spice darkens
           chocolates to red

sweet, with heat,
twines with peppered kick

Under ripe strawberry moon
             night's perfume:
I hear black wolf's racing pulse
             rain, musk, wood
As your tongue cools my heated flesh
             tangled in your arms
