The ripening

You

seeped in my bones & cracks

shades

of color I never knew

burst

violet ash black, magenta fire storm, deep rusted orange

Words

keen & deadly came kneeling

red

appled leaves climaxing before dying

Your

skin darkly yellowed & smoked, a midnight feast

I embraced

subversive dyes, wicked hues, riotous tints

On canvas

they pulse sharp as bleeding rose, thorns

amputated

& thirsty for spring's greening

Kiss

me, restless & unknotted

You

  2. Grace, I love this poem. Has me reading it again and again. Reminds me of ee Cummings in a way. Restless and unknotted, really great word play mixed in with the colors.

  3. A wide array of colours here. The climaxing of apple leaves, magenta fire storm, bleeding rose- some wonderful images. And that touch of sensuality makes it a lovely piece. :-)

  4. Very cool bleeding rose with no thorn and knots gone after the seeping in. How that must feel to a leaf who gets to experience it once! What a way to go! And not alone!
