The music sheet trills & exalts
Notes so blue, a lingering sky
A wind breath, light as a caress
Drips on dappled page, murmuring profusely
Verses, in ballet pirouette, flower slowly, then
Allegro beat, sweeping both of us to peaks &
Unimaginable spring, floating on edges, tumble&fall
We don't speak as stars slide unbalanced
into the night, gravity finds us trembling-
84 piano keys galloped in the wind-
while 4 violin strings quivered the garden in throes-
music unlocked his tongue-tied words into red wine-
she drank them, one s u g a r crystal at a time-

Deletemusic unlocked his tongue-tied words... I just love that line... beautiful
ReplyDeleteThanks Laurie ~
Deletesmiles...love the piano keys galloping...and the rather light airy feeling through out...the gravity finds us trembling--is a cool line as well grace...your words come off as music themselves...smiles.

ReplyDeleteThank you ~
DeleteMusic can unlock much, as can enough wine lol
ReplyDeleteSure it can ~ Thanks Pat ~
DeleteThis is gorgeous, Grace. I love that you went with the musical theme and, of course, the waves of music are so well represented by the way the words flow across the screen, not to mention the sound qualities infused within the lines. Your mood is exalted and the description of the effects of music on the soul elates the reader in thought and emotion.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the challenging prompt Kerry ~ I had to listened to the music piece several times ~
Deletelove the closing lines, Heaven - a proper denouement ~ M
ReplyDeleteThank you M ~

ReplyDeleteThe musical piece was my inspiration ~ Thank you ~
DeleteI especially love the ending here, Heaven--each note is indeed sweet and crystal clear.
ReplyDeleteThank you dear Hedge ~
DeleteVery nice... wine unties our tongues, the inspiration... then as if to commune we drink them, medicine or sugar cane. In that awesome revelation of the end times, map of our epic dreming mind, fantasy or rhapsody I wonder what it meant where it says: "Harm not the wine..."
ReplyDeleteBut where would we be without the key? Or the key without Grace notes?
ReplyDeleteHa..ha..funny question ~ Thanks for dropping by ~
DeleteFloating on edges - excellent picture and just makes it all feel alive. Exceelent
ReplyDeleteThank you Alan ~
DeleteMusic can sometimes say things that nothing or anybody else can say. Notes can be so simple but so complex, I guess that's the same for music and life though.
ReplyDeleteSo true Matthew ~ Thank you ~
DeleteIncredibly beautiful.......especially the galloping piano keys and violin notes and "she drank them, one sugar crystal at a time".
ReplyDeleteThank you Sherry ~
DeleteGrace - music that matches the beat of two hearts.

Music can certainly be a savior in terms of endearment. Nicely Grace!

gravity finds us trembling. nice!
ReplyDeletemusical notes flowering slowly ... that is beautiful! I think this would be a great exercise for the Toads! I might do my Artistic Interpretation by having a painting and then a link to a certain musical piece (maybe something opposite of what one would think ) and make them combine the two.... ? I will let them know you inspired my thinking process :)
ReplyDeleteI love your mixture of music, love and sensuality. So sexy and romantic.
ReplyDeleteVerses, in ballet pirouette, flower slowly, then

ReplyDelete84 piano keys, 4 violin strings ! Quite an odd combination to me!
ReplyDeleteWHew. I was already high enough by the end of the first section, and then you gave us more--and now I think she is the piano player and the lover is a great appreciator of music, well ok, he can bow too! Notes linger, and the music transports on every level. And then this poem. Lovely.
ReplyDeleteThis is just full of gorgeous lines. I really like this one, Grace.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, evocative imagery, as always. :)
ReplyDeleteWow!
ReplyDeleteThat sound...was me swallowing hard....damn this was lyrically perfect, hopeful and way sexy. You have a great way of setting mood with your writing, a turn down the lights, have a glass of wine and whisper naughty things in my ear kind of mood. Yeah....I'm a fan of that mood...lol!
ReplyDeleteYou've took me sliding on the stars.
ReplyDeleteIt is majestic.
