words unspoken
crackle the air crisp as magnolia
tangy as first apple bite
you entice me with a dream's glimpse:
your voice twining with moon's lilt
daring me to follow you
wings wild & untangled
as rain flower
flint the fire's undertow
strike the static canvas to deep-vowel blue
softer than water-
us

There is such magnetism in the air sometimes... what a wonderful poem.. love as can only be written on air softer than blue...
ReplyDeleteWow! Such a beautifully sensuous write :D
ReplyDeleteLovely unexpected turns in phrases
ReplyDeleteA very clever, well-written romantic adventure; but after reading Bjorn's political satire, I kept reading this as misdirected & enchanted foolish followers of flatfish. I like the lines /wings wild & untangled/as rain flower/.

You can feel the electricity between the two, yet soft and sensuous as well.
ReplyDeleteI love this:
ReplyDelete"strike the static canvas to deep-vowel blue

Such a great longing in this poem. But subtle, and below the surface. I like the mystery of this.
ReplyDeleteLove is sure in the air and can be felt by the pair
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Poem, Grace.
ReplyDeleteGrace, truly an elegant poem. I agree with Ellie, those are my favorite lines. Smiles...>KB
ReplyDeleteVery sensual, Grace. The "S" sound in the poem added to that sensuality. Happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteAlliteration, arousal, and assimilation conquering the aspects and fulfilling the poem. You've become quite accomplished our Grace. Good to read you again.

Lines which gripped me and made me long for more - delightful!
New years Greetings to you, Grace - some real reaching here, stretching and stretching to delight us - as sensual and seductive as ever...
ReplyDeleteSo many wonderful images here.
ReplyDeleteThere is that uncanny tie-up among lovers that can only be explained as the willingness of giving rather than taking! Happy hols Grace!

Gorgeous
ReplyDeleteThe first three lines just blew me away. Although the southern magnolia fragrance is more citrus, it is truly as crisp as the bite of an apple. And that first glance among lovers to be is exactly that - crisp. I never thought of it like that but it truly is. I remember when my husband and I first met...
ReplyDeleteA wonderful play of words creating unexpected images ... bravo! Bastet
ReplyDeleteSuch sensuous and uniquely personal imagery, Grace--lovely.
ReplyDeleteThe power of unspoken words - I always love them. It reminds me of the piece we wrote together....
ReplyDeleteSorry it took a long time before I could visit you. Hope you had a good weekend.
Love how words unspoken can crackle the air :-)
